AN LN ELEVEN PROJECT.
Nigel At Home.
Location Rothwell Northants.
This particular shoot was long in the making for me, I had a few ideas regarding mens mental health and I wanted to experiment with some ideas at a models house. Nigel was amazing and helped me achieve the shots better than I had even imagined. He also sent me over another idea to which I instantly loved and we recreated the image but with our own style using a beer glass.
The photoshoot was located at Nigel’s house in Rothwell, Northamptonshire. I wanted to firstly have an image of a guy sat on his own, deep in thought, not in a good place. The props used really helped achieve an overall look of a guy suffering with some mental health issues, and Nigel was excellent in helping achieve this. We then went onto the bathroom and continued the theme there, the reflection works really well in adding some context to self contemplation.
The image of the beer glass covering his modesty was firstly shown to me from the model via an inspiration picture he found online, apologies but I couldn’t find the original photographer to credit the work. I would put that image into a fine art category, it shows beauty of our natural skin whilst giving some very edgy vibes too. The colour for me works best and I will certainly be printing this and putting it up for sale.
I also did some portrait shots and head shots. These always work well for both model and photographer in relation to portfolio images. All these were shot using the beautiful natural light we got that day and the blinds adding some interest in the background with the shadows they were forming.
Lastly we ended with a few long exposure experimental shots. With the model moving his head and the shutter speed very slow we was able to create some more very emotive images to finish the day.
If you enjoyed the selection of images as much as I did, I will be putting a few up for sale soon that will be found in the prices tab in the top menu.
